Here is another problem I am having at another location. I have a DK 16e with cards in the expansion as follows: Slot 15=kcdu, slot16=pdku, slot 17=kcdu, and I am tryint to install another kcdu in slot 18, but it is not working. I have programmed it in Pgm 03 as a type 65, and reset the system. I don't think I am exceeding 28 ports. Any Ideas?

There was a previous thread about this. Bobrobert is the man to answer this question.

Do you have any analog ports on the system? If you have a KSTU programmed in slot 13, then you will exceed the 28 port limit. Post back if nothing is programmed in slot 13.
Thanks for the vote of confidence Alvaphonepro - how's the radio gig working out for you?

The radio gig going good. It's been a long time since there has been a tech here that has had a clue. I am getting our district up to where it needs to be. Our voice and data was a mess!! We have an Inter tel Axxess. Not a fan of Inter tel. Take care Bob..

The Inter-Tel Axxess system is a good switch - I was certified on it back in the late 90's. I just never had that many installed to know it as well as the Toshiba. If I can be of any assistance, let me know.
It's good to hear from you again and you take care too! BobRobert

Here is my config in the main cabinet. s00=91, s11=62, s12=11, s13=00, s14=00. I verified the kcdu was good by moving it from s18 to s17, where an existing kcdu was, and it is good. What can I try next?

It should work. If you put a display phone on the last port of the KCDU in slot 17 and dial intercom #402, what comes up on the display? It should say you are on port 023 according to your config, meaning you should be able to add a KCDU in slot 18.
You do know to press hold after programming the slot - don't you?

Yes, I checked the last port on slot 17, icm #402, and it said port 023. Checked pgm 03 again, and slot 18 is type 65. Do you think I should default and reprogram the system?

No, I don't think defaulting would be the way to go, just yet. If Prog 03 says slot 18 is 65 then you should be golden. Verify your amphenol cable is seated and grab another 25 pr cable just for testing purposes. Do you get any beeps when pressing buttons on the new ports (port 024-027)? Are you sure the KSU is a DK16e and not a DK16? When programming the ports, are they 2 or 3 digits? I've never had an expansion cabinet go south, but do you have another just for testing?

The KSU says DK16e on it. I have tried another 25 pair cable with a jack on the white/blue, same results. Yes, I do get beeps when pressing some of the buttons at first, but then the beeps quit, no lights. The ports are 3 digits, (as in pgm 39, I would use 001#) I think we do have a spare expansion cabinet. Never installed one of those myself, but I could try it.
