G'day all,

Just curious as to know what the maximum Voltage allowed on a Loop Trunk card on a SL1100 or a SV8100.

In Australia our standard Voltage is approx 48-52V.

On a customers line we're getting 85V and wondering if this will shorten the life of the system.

Thanks for your input in advance!

Chalky.

I think that is a question that may require a call to NTAC.

I think I would have a talk to the telco supplying the trunk. 85 Volts is way over the top and I'm sure outside the trunk specs of the people who certify trunk interface hardware in Ozz.. As you say it should be about 48 ~ 52 volts..

Edit. Just had a look at an analog trunk in my lab and open circuit voltage was about 47 volts..

FYI Once had a line for Allstate. That measured that hi ;fried 1 line on a 2 line tel. telco used a "slick 50 split 1 pair into 2 ckt, because of lack of cable pairs." allstate made them make good on the ckt. and tel.set.
