Have TDE 100 w/ 10 Voip phones at remote location. At KSU site location have Digital phones. At site location have paging horns. Page goes through speaker on phones and on paging horns.

Valcom told us we could install their IP Paging Horn at remote site where all IP phones are. They have different ways to do this.

Panasonic is saying that they dont know much about this application, it is not a proprietary device, they say it needs to be.

Does anyone have knowledge on how to install an IP Paging horn at a remote site? Can it even be done?

It looks like you register a sip extension to the paging horn and when you call it, it answers the call giving you a speech path

Panasonic doesnt know much about it, they claim equipment has to be Panasonic proprietary. If not, if we are out of licenses, would I have to buy one to add this Valcom horn? I'm thinking so.

Yes, you would need another SIP license. The paging would simply be an extension-to-extension call.

I asked Panasonic Tech Support about this once and they suggested installing a low end SIP or IP phone and plugging the headset jack into a paging amplifier and turn on auto answer

That is a good idea, if you need more than one speaker

Was told about this company at one of the Panasonic roadshows that sells SIP Paging products that work with Panasonic.
