Good morning and hope everyone is having a good day! I am having issues with our voicemail and it has me totally stumped. The voicemail is working fine as far as handling calls coming in and allowing caller to leave voicemail. Where the problem comes in is when some one goes to listen to there voicemail. When I go to retrieve my voicemail and I hit my Msg. Waiting light the voicemail prompts me right of way and gives me the instuctions like normal. when I press 1 to listen to messages there is a 15 to 20 second delay before I hear the message. This is happening on all voicemail boxes also not just one or two. The problem is system wide. I have installed a new hard drive about two weeks ago and how I did this was just make a clone of the original and copied it to the new hard drive. Any ideas on what the problem could be? I am running on the IPEX2 with 8 port voicemail and my system software is 3.12 and Emagen is 10.3.15. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
kkell11400

Try re-running the service pack. I have also had this happen on older versions where the messages are not being deleted and the file gets so huge it takes it a long time to pull a message, therefore the delay. Cloning the drive may have screwed the message tags up and your system is plowing through all the stored messages to find the right one.

I agree with TG. My guess would be the clone caused the issue. If you have the old drive you could reinstall it and see if the issue clears. Then you would know the clone was the problem.
This is why I dont not clone a drive. I buy a drive from repair with a clean install and restore the database. But even then you may have ghost mailboxes and messages that can cause errors. Just takes some time to clean things up.

Thanks for the quick response guys. I maybe wrong but I don't think cloning the drive is the problem. This cloned drive has been working great for two weeks and then I come in this morning and it was acting up. I put the original hard drive back in first thing this morning and it would still do the same thing. That being said all of a sudden this afternoon the system is working fine, like it is suppose too. I would like to figure out where the problem is though so I do not get the dreaded phone call where there is no Voicemail. I hate these problems that tend to fly under radar and you really can't nail down what the problem is. I also cannot check the hard drive while system is running because the dealer that serviced our system 5-6 years ago replaced the hard drive when it went bad but when they put the new hard drive in they failed to load the files to check the hard drive. So to check the hard drive I have to take the system down. So basically I guess what I am saying is I'm still scratching my head.

Thanks,

kkell I can setup a webex and look at the drive with some of the things I have learned working on the T3 voicemails for several years now. But there will be charge to do this.
