Howdy,

There are certain things I'd love to see from Samsung. I would be very interested in forming a dealer lobbying group with some of you all to help push for changes in the product line. Unfortunately, there's no list of dealers I can get so I'll just put up an invite here. If we have a power group that we can push for changes at Samsung I think that could be highly effective and beneficial to us all.

Maybe as a unified dealer's group we could approach Samsung and push for changes.

1) A newly designed digital phone needed ASAP. The digital phones look very outdated and 20 years old. The existing DS or iDCS phones work great but they badly need updated housing. Perhaps a color LCD.

2) Pricing needs to be lowered on IP phones and MGI channels. An SMTi-5243 with an MGI channel is ghastly expensive.

3) All softphones and IP phones need to have an extended value available on the key programming so the DSS/AOM keys can be displayed in plain English. The OS Communicator Deskphone mode should have an extended value on the AOM so it doesn't show DSS 201, DT0701, etc. whereas the SMT phones can put an English descriptor on the key for names or whatnot.

4) SPNet Networking System Link ID needs to have a field added that shows if it is connected and available like it does for SIP Carrier Options. There's no way to tell if networking is up or down.

Etc.

Let me know if you're interested.

I'm in.
My complaint is the manuals.
If you try to set up SPnet following the directions shown in special apps, you'll make yourself crazy. Once you do one, AND understand what's going on, it's OK.
Everyone is using DM but the manual is in MMC.
Why do we have to continue to use Desi's at all?

Im in. I would love to see the voicemail have a tutorial for new users.

I would also like to see the UCD have a little more flexability.

I wish they did not discontinue the SMTi5220's - We need another phone that has more than 14 buttons on it.

The communicator softphone and old softphone can show names rather then dss201, it's in the settings of the client.

I want MW over SPNET other then via VMMSG keys.

Ability to ring local AND remote stations at the same time (soo many customers want this)

Fix the bugs in DM (eg NS keys, copy and paste issue where the last line doesn't paste, etc)

Haven't heard about the 5220's being EOL yet

I second most of the stuff you guys have come up with so far. True intercom button that you can push when you have hotline set to an outside line, whatever new phone and display they come up with it needs to have more than TWO lines of information, way more spnet functionality(like they are ONE system), inexpensive sip phones and lower the price on sip extension license, cell phones as members of ring groups(maybe can do this now?), etc.

How do you plan on presenting this to Samsung?

I like it, so far my requests have been through the regional rep.

I was thinking about a draft letter to the US GM and copied to all the regional reps asking it to be passed on to Korea.

I've never had any response on ANY of my requests. Maybe a signed letter by 20-50 dealers sent on to Korea would get their attention and a response.

I'm not talking a picket letter, just a letter to actually get these things presented and hopefully a response back from them on what's doable and what's not and if they can fit these into a business plan time-line. You know, fit these into their production schedule.
