I am new to the world of the Encore system, and had a question reguarding remotely connecting. I read through the manual and read somewhere that there has to be an external modem connected to the switch. The manual says just to do the 'internal transfer to 721' process. As I don't really have the capacity to fully test this out, could you guide me in the proper direction.

I guess another question would be, do I really have to use an external modem (1 of the 2) recommended in the manual to dial into the switch?
