What type of equipment do ISP use who run fiber optics networks?

Does this type of equipment have a particular name?

It is just the same was a network switch but for fiber instead of copper or is there a special type of equipment needed?

Thanks.

Umm, they can use everything, depending on what type of service is offered.

Routers, switches, transport equipment (may include regen shelves, active DWDM, ADMs, etc.)
