I have an IPK II system with PRI that stopped working last week. The PRI card shows normal activity (LED 1 on and LED 7 flashing) indicating D channel link but can not call in or out. Telco is saying the B channels are busy at the customer end. I can use direct trunk access code and access each channel and system doesnt say they are busy. Telco is convinced (and has convinced the customer) that it is an issue with the PRI card and not their circuit. We have one on order but customer is getting excited as they have been out of service for a week. Not 100% convinced that a new card is going to solve problem. PRI was installed in July last year and just up and quit.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

I have a similar issue. IPKII with a PRI on DTIU-40. Circuit will go down, and not come back up for hours. I try resetting card, looping back and forth, carrier even has visited site multiple times. I have replaced the DTI U-40 and issues continue.
Last attempt was to have the carrier deliver a completely new (non VOIP product) circuit.
It's been 3 months and the circuit has not gone down so far.

I'm surprised. In AU i can't even think of a fault on these cards PRT(1)U23 - The IPKII version. absolutely rock solid!
As apposed to the PRT(1)U13's - The Elite version that still to this day have issues with particular Telco's.
I can remember once correcting an ongoing intermittent fault that kept reoccurring in an Elite, found Amp tail slightly off, found Amp badly crimped inside, found carriers modular socket - the wire near the IDC nicked (cable stripped back badly) and i reckon even the strip not being quite right. This was all on one site!!
Cant say I've needed to fix it again after finding all of that over a week.

Must be a DTI-u40 to work in an IPKII. PRT(1) will not work.

I had a circuit installed by new carrier on a different IPKII. Came in from Metaswitch... would consistantly not route every 10th call, no matter what circuit it came in on. Brought an IPK out to site and tested, no problems. Put circuit back on IPKII... issue continues.
Carrier had to build circuit on non VOIP switch to get it to work.
Bizarro stuff..........

We are having the exact same issue. What version were you on before you upgraded to V1.61? What is the most current version for this product? How do you find software and download it? Does NEC even sell this product line anymore? How old is it?

NEC does not support the IPKII product any longer.
The latest greatest firmware was 1.61p but most versions of 1.61.should suit your needs/fix your issues.
You also want to make sure the firmware on the DTI u40 card is 5.12 for a PRI circuit or 5.08 for a CAS T-1 circuit.
To find the software you need to find a tech that has access to the NEC FTP server and knows where they keep stuff they don't really want you to have. Or a tech that was good about keeping every little update and firmware saved on his laptop.
