So we switched to Access Line for the SIP trunks and they work. But we are having a problem with incoming calls. A great many, at least half generate the following error:

SIP/2.0 403 Forbidden

Outgoing is no problem just incoming. AccessLine says it is a PBX setting problem. There is nothing to configure as far as I can see. Precious little other than codecs etc. If you keep calling in you wil get a connection maybe 2 out of 5 tries. So it does work sporadically.

NEC actually said to us "403? Gosh, we never see that."

They suggested a firware downgrade as a WTH approach. Can we even do that? We are running 3.42. Can we downgrade?

Any ideas?

A fellow tech of mine is in contact with both Accessline and NEC about this.
Call Accessline they are working heavily with NEC on this and may have it figured out now.
