I’m looking for a solution or alternative to having two keys for a single extension appearance on a non-primary phone.
For instance, a secretary would like to have a button on her phone with her manager's extension on it to see if he is on the phone, answer his incoming calls, and be able to place the call on hold for the supervisor to pick up in his office. Is there any way to accomplish the functions with 1 single button?
As of now I have a DSS Key and a Secondary DN key for each appearance of the different manager’s numbers and am going through buttons fast. IE: The receptionist likes to be able to pick up any of the numbers if they ring and the Manager is out of the office.
I’d appreciate any suggestions.

You could just use the DSS key for each manager, receptionist should be able to tell if that phone is ringing and either use the station pick up feature code or put it on a button to answer. You really should only need the one DSS key for each phone.
Or you could have the managers forward their phone to the receptionist when gone, this could be put on one button on each of their phones.
Or you could set up a system call forward that forwards the managers phone to the receptionist after so many rings.
