can you program the alarm system to call 2 or 3 telephone numbers. No central station. Do these alarms have a pager feature. Alarm calls numeric pager and tells me the address number and what zone is going off.is something like this possible?

The alarm panel can call any number you program into it. It will call one or more numbers. However, once the called is processed, the panel will be looking for a "handshake" signal that tells it to proceed with the coded information as to the location of the calling panel, and the appropriate code, such as fire, trouble, or power problem. These codes are sent using tones that (sometimes) can be DTMF, which COULD be received and displayed by a page, but the panel will probably not be able to be programmed for the pager company handshake (proceed) tones.

For around $25 per month, you can solve the whole problem: Have the panel communicate with a central station, and let them interpret and re-transmit the coded messages to a pager, or a telephone, or group of telephones. That's what they do, and they do it reliably, every day. They can also be relied upon to continue to attempt to find you. Pagers, however, can be unreliable. They are receive-only, and cannot tell you if they are low on battery, out of range, unable to be found by a tower, etc.

As stated above, Ademco panels have the ability to send data to pagers, but as also stated above you will find that paying your monthly central station fees will be 100 times easier and WAY more reliable.

Alternatively, Paradox EVO systems can be set up to send e-mail notifications for any alarms or troubles without having any monthly subscriptions other than your ISP charges.

Check out the Honeywell Lynx 5100 panel, you can program it to call several numbers with voice announcements based on zone troubles.
