I am working with system version 5.2F2 and a OS/2 Voice processor. In DB programming, I can see where to set up reports on the Voice processor, but I can seem to do much else. I did hook up a printer to the parralell port on the system, but it didn't work, DB Studio actually crashed when I right clicked and told it to print. Can anyone shed some light on this? Is it possible to have those reports print on the system that DB studio is on(like system reports)? How do these reports work?

Thanks Much!

I've been looking for any type of statistics that i could print out in the event that our TASKE machine goes down. Although the programming reports for VMAIL would also be nice.

Yes, I do have it set to LPT1 and a printer hooked up, it's even a dot matrix!

Just a side question--what is the relay port for on the CPU card?

Relay is used for Power Failure Transfer Equipment. You can connect single line sets to predetermined CO trunks in the event of a processor card failure or a power-failure.

As for the printer, if you're going to hook the printer to LPT1 you're going to have to set up terminal software to hand off to the printer. Don't suppose you've got an old dot matrix printer with an RS-232 Port on it do you?

Actually the way we usually set them up is to run Hyperterminal on the computer running DB Studio and have the reports dump there in soft copy.

Actually, we do have one! Would it be easier to connect it to the extra serial port on the voice mail box, or directly into the CPU card?

I don't have any extra ports on the CPU card, but I could just disconnect the TASKE box (since we are assuming it would be down at this point anyway) and direct a printout or maybe even SMDR data to that port?

Call your vendor for assistance on the best way. Are they competent?

There is a way to hand off SMDR to COM2 on the AxxessoryTalk box, but I've never had that work well for me. It is in the manual though. I prefer to go to the cabinet. But then again, as I said, I also prefer to dump to a terminal program. You can set the program in capture mode and have the data dump to the dot matrix printer hooked to the computer running DB Studio.

This is a simple set up, but you do need to understand how the Axxess communicates and a little something about I.T. to set up the terminal software.

Our vendor is a very small company, whitch is great for things they know, but unfortunatly not so great for 'odd' things. She has never done anything with the voice processor reports before and doesn't know any more about it than I do.

I can have the dot matrix hooked up to the Voice Processor, it's right next to it actually(needs to be on for the alarm system during disarm but that's it)

I don's suppose there is any easy way to get those reports out of that box? I can print to a file but really wouldn't have any way of getting to it since the machine is not networked.
