I just purchased an antique cord board. It appears to have all the electromechanical parts in tact. Is there any out there who can tell me if it is possible to get it up and running again. It was running when it was taken out of service and I would like to get it to fire up so I can show visitors when they come into the office. Thanks, Kent

Well it's been awhile, but all you should have to do is wire the cable that comes out the bottom or back. It's probably not color coded, just paper or pulp with a solid pair and a striped tracer. You'll probably have to tone it out unless it's still stenceled with the pair numbers. Maybe someone here will have a old manual, but will need model number and stuff, hope you have the power supply too for hold and lamps and stuff, again depending on type it could be internal but most likely it's an external power supply the interupter is probably also external. Good luck, there's some pretty smart folks here to help you along. You're best bet is to find an old telephone guy.

It has been 20 tears or so, but might have a manual barried in the garage. It should have a model number on it nd manufacturer. Like ANT7.

If you have a 1A2 you can interface it to make lights work and buzzers.

Good Luck!!

Thanks everyone. I will see if I can't get the model # off the thing and reply. JJ, I think it was you who said I could get a 1AKey and make all of the lights work. How exactly? I'm an AVAYA dealer so I know quite a bit about Partner, Magix, Old Merlin, etc... but the 1A is too old for me to know. However, I may be able to procure one pretty easily. Thanks again everyone and I will check back on the bulletin board on Monday.

We used the intercom unit off the 1A2 for the buzzers and the lamp leads from the 1A2 panel to light the lights. You wire the switch board as if each cord was a line going to a phone. You can also hookup single line ports off your phone system into the line ports of the 1A2 to emulate real calls.

Alot of wirring and testing. We did it back in 1985 for training purposes. Wish we would have wrote down exactly how we did it.
The Army was phasing out there last class on rotary equipment, so we were able to play around with all of the equipment.

Good Luck!!
