I'm trying to find out how to change the number of rings a comdial debut vm system waits for a station to pick up before dropping back to the mailbox. Any guidance would be appreciated.

It's programmed in the phone system not the voicemail. The voicemail merely handles anything sent to it, it doesn't control anything besides how things get routed once they are inside of it.

Really depends on how the debut is doing the transfer. If the transfer is set to blind then the phone system controls how many rings to it goes to mailbox. If the transfer is set to await anser then the voice mail controls the number of rings. Hope that helps

I think the voicemail is set for blind transfer but I don't know how to check it. The main issue is there is no generated ring to let the caller know something is happening while the station is being tried. Is this a limitation of this system? Again the voicemail is a debut-4d and the phone system is DSU II L0816 Right now the station will ring 5 times and then the caller is put into the mailbox.

Most Comdials do not have ringback tone, the exception being the DXP series. You would be better off enabling MOH and using a radio or Ipod for music on hold

Hi
If it is a dsu II (grey cabinet) with software I think 5 A and above it can do ring back. If not you need MOH so clients will know they have not been disconnected. Are you a dealer/installer or end user?. You really will need to know what you are doing and a manual

Thanks, for the info, I'm the end user but have set it up so far. I've got the manual. At this point I'm having an old Comdial dealer come out and have a look.
