Hi all,
Hello, Our company has a TDA 100/200 system and I am unable to print key labels showing the persons 'name' for system phones programmable keys (or DSS modules). I think the problem is I cannot pick a 'SYSTEM Speed Dial' number from a drop-down list (one-touch, etc) to be programmed into these keys, someone previous to me has entered telephone numbers manually and while the software does display names when key-label names are selected in the software, when I continue to the print options only numbers appear.

I have been told an alternative is to set up 'Virtual PS'.
I have tried this and another failure, so could someone quickly run me through the Virtual PS setup for the TDA 100/200.
I have setup divert to cell on the PS (using extn 301) but when I ring from my extn 843, I get a 'disconnect' tone for that extn, I've never done a PS so hopefully its something simple I've missed.
If required I could provide a DSYS file
Thanks in advance Olley

I don't know what printing lables has to do with Virtual PS.
Best way to make lables go to Desi.com

Virtual PS requires a software upgrade maybe 2 depending on current level. It might work independantly but all I have set up were a member of an ICD group and had to have this upgrade.

Hardware Requirement
The KX-TDA6920, KX-TDA0920 or KX-TDA5920 SD Memory Card for Software Upgrade to Enhanced
Version

You will also need version 5.0 software.

If you

If you want virtual extension just take any unused DXDP port and FWD all to outside number. FWD must be on using console and Intercom and outside line FWD ALL.

Then its just another ext on your system. Assuming all other programming pertaining to Trunking and Transfers are set properly. You may also have to change the VM programming a bit also.

Thanks brokeda, but i don't think you understand my problem, in the PC Maintenance Console (V5.0.1.8) for our companies TDA 100 phone system is an option to program Flexible Buttons (4.3 for DSS Console or 4.1.4 for system extensions).

If you select 'Key Setting' you can choose what you want the buttons to do, In our case some are DSS and others are One-touch

If you select 'Key Setting & Key Label Name, this shows the DDS key layout and the NAME of the person programmed into each key, but when you proceed to 'Key Label Print(P)', select the console number, next, the NAMES for the One-touch buttons revert back to the telephone numbers!

Ideally for me it would be a preferred option to program a extension phone or DSS button to select a person(number and name) from the System Speed Dial (6.1) and print the labels with names, as our company has ten Digital phones and ten DSS modules to program and these all vary from user to user.

Failing this I was told I might be able to program a key on the phone or DSS module to a Virtual PS, and have the Virtual PS extension transferred immediately to a persons cell phone.

Hopefully this explains this better, or I could send some screen shots if required
Thanks again Olley

I know I don't understand your question, but isn't it that you want to print labels? For short jobs, there's a Panasonic labels program that uses a spreadsheet.

For 10 total, just go out and buy 60# paper stock and print your own. You'll think you're in kindergarden again because you have to cut them out :-)

Thanks Carl but why would I want to take time making a spreed sheet or writing out labels when the phone system software should be able to print them straight from the phone or DSS module key layout??????
PS, 10 phones and 10 DSS moudules equals 30 labels

Thanks for the math lesson, but it's 3 pages on a spreadsheet. They print 5 across for the DT343/7600 doubles and 10 single DSS labels on a page.

You want to do this because of the magic of copy and paste and you don't have to b*tch about the fact that the Pana label printer doesn't print what you want.

When you click on the Print label and the screen showing small pic of button layout. Dss names will be there, one touch only number.
Click on button of One Touch and there is a box where you can specify Name for this button , Font, color etc.
Also works on DSS keys so you can change as people change enen if sys name has not changed or just name that user wants.
EG ext 108 system name Billy, could be Billy Bad Ass or Billy Ship Asst on my deso sheet

Thanks brokeda, looks like you can see the issue I have and your solution to re-type over the NAMES by clicking the DSS key button and editing seems to be a work around the problem, just a little time consuming.

Still is there any way to pick a person from the 'System Speed Dial' list to assign to one of these keys??????
Maybe quick-off-the-mark Carl has an answer!!!
Cheers
