Not my best work but about half of it was done one handed since I had a huge gouge on my finger (was in a splint).

Still got a bit of cleanup at the bottom with the power cables.

Not bad...but 1) why the space between the blocks on the left, and 2) why are wires entering the side of the second block vs the bottom?

(1) fat hands smile
(2) the 25pr going to the DSX was already there and I was running out of room due to change orders

In the beginning, it was only a phone install. After finding out the client was using wireless in a hundred year old building of concrete and marble, it made no sense to not go ahead and run new data as well and redo the spaghetti mess (I'll post photos of the old stuff later).

Yes, poor planning on my part but it could have turned out a whole lot worse! At least all extensions and data ports worked from the get-go without any troubleshooting.

Thanks for your input, from one Jeff to another!

Looks nice and neat.

Constructive Criticism: I would run your tail cables and your station cables straight down to the bottom of the wallboard, the over and up into the 66 blocks. You can place your next block on top of those 25pr/4pr cables when you add to it later.

Like Jeff mentioned, try to come in from the bottom, run your jumpers over the top...

Pretty minor detail man, looks better than most of the wallboards I come across! Nice!

Looks good. The last few DSX-40 system's I have put in, the KSU cables were terminated to a patch panel, as was all of the house cabling. That is what the customer wanted. I prefer 66 blocks as you have done.

Is that backboard fire-rated or is there a protective coating to bring it to firerated standards?

I see a ground on the system but is it brought to a proper ground point? are you sure that EMT is grounded properly?

I can't tell if the data rack is grounded either.

I would hate having that data rack as it is a non-swing out, but that is just personnal preference.

I would have replaced the 25 pair with a length that was servicable.
Judging by the mention of existing cable already run, I assume the station cabling was already in place and terminated. As a note, comming up from the bottom means coming up from the bottom of the board, to allow for additional blocks to be installed. If cable lenght was an issue, then come down from the top, and make all cables come down from the top and then run Xconnects across the bottom.
what cable is that that is all wadded up that is going to (paging?) form the biscuit jack? if just a standard line cord, cut it to length.
I would grade the voice side a C+, over all C-.
SInce I don;t know what you had to to start with, I couldn't grade on a curve.

I appreciate your feedback Bill.

I too don't care much for racks that don't have a pivot point but for this job, additional runs at a later date are extremely unlikely.

I did inspect the EMT and determined it was properly grounded at the mains.

I've yet to see a backboard around here done that was fire rated, even in a recently built (less than 3 years old) GSA-owned facility. I know its "best practice" though and required by code in many states or localities.

Voice isn't my forte...although it's getting better. Most of the jacklegs around here would get F----- for their work. The local B**** B** franchise is the finest example of the Friday afternoon 4:30pm work.
