Hello.
I am having an issue with the caller ID not working the majority of the time. The area suffers from multiple storms with lighting striking all the time.
I am wondering if the caller ID which has almost stopped working could possible be to do a piece being hit by a power surge and if so, what piece of the system would need to be replaced to start working again.
I have tested by connecting a phone directly to the lines bypassing the phone system and confirmed that the caller ID works on that phone while not working on any phone connected to the system.
Please advice?
Thanks.

Does the Caller ID daughter board have any reset options? Why would caller ID stop working all of a sudden on the phone system? Do these things typically burn out? I think it has been operating close to 20 years.
Thanks.

Is the only possible problem the caller ID daughter board card or could there be settings in the system creating this problem of saying " line 1 ringing" or " no caller ID info" instead of displaying the caller ID?
In other words, could the caller ID feature be disabled system wide on this phone?
I have gone into 0921, trunk 1( assuming line 1 = trunk 1), item 2, and I have that set to 1( Receive Caller ID enabled)
Is there any other reason the caller ID is not coming in? Please note that I have confirmed caller ID is working for the line coming in via bypassing the phone system on a regular phone.
Thanks.
P.S.
I was trying to say sporadic in the title but this form won't allow me to fix it. Sorry. Actually, now I don't think its working at all.

I've seen the boards go bad and skip is right they are flaky. Besides, it's not like the system isn't just a few years old.

I think I'm been using it for 20 years and I am not sure how old it was before I got it. So your suggestion is to replace the CID daughter board ? I don't suppose anyone has one laying around their office supply closet? Is there anything else programing or configuration wise I can try other than what I have already done? Thanks.
