Just had a customer call that their STS system dropped a call in progress and now the phones just show the boot screen info. Had them turn it off and then back on and still the same. I will be going there tomorrow, any idea what to look for? Haven't had this happen before.

I see that display on other Vodavi models when the software has died or locked up. Usually because the cpu battery was dead when a reset happened. It takes an init & new battery to get to going. I have not had this happen to me on a STS. Got Backup?

I don't have a backup on this system. Don't know who installed it but it is a pretty basic program with a few extension changes. Thanks

Update on problem. Found system had relay clicking and LEDs flashing and would not load, started to remove cards to see which one might be causing this. After removing the Caller ID module system reloaded and is working fine. They were not using CID anyway. I have a backup and printout of the system data now!

Good find! I had actually forgotten about the problem the STS occasionally had with some CID boards. Thanks for the reminder.
But when the system is 5-7 years old, a depleted battery will also cause the system to do that. It is the most common complaint that we see. Now that you have a backup, you should really replace that battery.

Customer says the system was installed 9 years ago so I will look into changing that battery. Thanks
