Anybody installed a DID trunck card?

Do they accept pots lines?

Do you program them in CMD 5XX?

Im trying to accomplish a direct dial to an extention on the sx-50 to bypass the console. The only way I can tell is to purchase a 4 port DID trunk card. Or is there a way to point a pots using existing lsgs ports (like in form 14 of an sx-200)

Besides upgrading the system any sugesstions?

Yes, you may assign a trunk to ring directly to a station, bypassing the console. The problem is, every call to that trunk will ring that station. It works just like the program in form 14 of a 200.

DID trunks require DID service from the LEC. POTS does not provide the proper signaling or DNIS digits to allow the switch to route the call.

Programming for trunk routing (like form 14 in a 200) is located in program 5xx Register 4, bits efg for day mode.

Are there any rules about what slot the DID trunk card can be in? That you know of?

SX-50 is universal slots. Most installers populate the nest with station modules then CO modules, but, it makes no difference to the PBX.

A DID trunk is wink-start. It requires a wink from the Telco, and then it winks back to receive inbound digits. This is a special trunk.

You will have to ask for the oldest person still working at AT&T in order to get analog wink-start trunks. The new kids will think that you mean a PRI.
