greetings!
awesome site and i hope some of you guys may have a few answers for me. any feed back is appreciated.
I downloaded (from fyi) the new IP5K4-M2D0 for my IP5132-SD (i have around 100 or so). I applied the update using the external FTP method to a test phone with just a handset plugged in and worked flawlessly.
I attempted another test phone that had a handset AND headset plugged in and when it went to reboot all the FB buttons do is show green and flash on/off every 4 seconds. I think i bricked the phone. Is there another way to clear the flash or do i need to send this in? (to be clear the LCD shows nothing and the FBs just flash green)
thanks again for any feed back you can provide!

Have you tried the IPT handet recovery method on the FYI site? You have to set the handset and laptop to a particular IP address and bootftp the files back onto the handset. The was a tech bulletin on how to do this.

[edited procedure] . i tried that many time.
there's no LCD screen displaying though, almost like there's no firmware to load.
no difference though, i'm RMA'ing though my vendor. thanks for the tip.
Edited for posting procedure not meant for public.

How did you fix? I am having issues with Shortel 265 phones. Our Netgear switches have been acting up and when they reboot (buffer overflow related to LLDP code in switch) it bricks the Shoretel phone. We turn on the phone and it blips but that's it. Local Shoretel dealer says phones are bricked and need to be replaced by shortel (aka buy new refurbished phones, trading in old phone to go back to mfg for refurbishing). On all other phones I have worked with, the bootldr is different than firmware so if firmware is wiped you can still reload firmware.

fiskit.... First please complete your profile so we can better assist you. Second, why are you asking a ShoreTel question in the Toshiba forum. I would think you might get a better answer in the ShoreTel forum.
