Hello all,

I am setting up a Toshiba Strata DK-40i with IPV8 Voicemail Card.

It was moved from an existing customer and there was a special Amphenol cable on the KSU that would not allow all 8 Digital Phone Ports to be used. The cable broke out the Yello Pair and the a copule of the Violet for Audio Cables to be connected to a 66 Block.

When I realized it was not wired properly I replaced the Amphenol Cable with a new one and a new 66 Block.

I was not able to access Port 17 Logical port 007.

I ran Program 90-1 and I believe 90-2 according to the Programming Manual. Extension 17 is back but now I cannot connect to the IPV8. It plays audio at Extension 18-21 but will not allow me to enter *999# to get into Programming so that I could work with adding Userid's for the individual Extension 10-17 or logical Ports 000-007.

Does anyone know why I have lost connection to VoiceMail since running the above Program's.

I have a suspicion it is either a wrong DTMF setup or the Userid's for 990 and 991 as well as 999 have been deleted somehow.

I went into the Programming from a 20 Button LCD Phone and checked all the Cards they are:

Cards in KSU Base are as follows:

TMAU2 - Slot Number 00 - PCB Code 98 (K5RCU2
DKU - Slot 11 - PCB Code - 62
TCOU1A - Slot 12 - PCB Code 11
No Other slots Used in KSU Base

Expansion Base cards Installed are as follows:

IPV8 Strategy DK (8 Port Black Card) - Cabinet Label 04 - Slot Number 15 - PCB Code 31
RCIU2 (4 Port) - Cabinet Label 06 - Slot 17 - PCB Code 81

I checked to make sure all cards were properly setup, but still not able to acces voicemail. All four extensions for Voicemail play the audio greeting extension 18-21. However when I try to press *10 or any other Voicemail ID Number including 990, 991 and 999 I receive no response, the greeting continues to play without ressponse and ends up at a previous greeting for a General mailbox.

Is it possible the Admin Ports have been changed? My call forwarding setup on Extension 10 has changed from a previous setup Ext 50 to 850 with my doing anything. I am assuming it is a PhDN.

This is an urgent request, I hope someone can direct me to a resolution soon.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Steve (NetComm)

When you initialized it you defaulted it and now you will have to re-do the system and station programming. And there's a lot to do. But your main issue of not "hearing" the dtmf tones is that you did not tell the processor that there is a dtmf receiver installed. That is done in prog 03 slot 00 should be a 92 or 98 then recycle the power.

I checked my programming and I did set the Prog 03 Slot 00 to 98. I also reprogrammed and checked 92 neither makes a difference.

If I have this setting correct already what would be next? I can faintly hear the DTMF tones I am just not able to connect to any Userid including the Strategy DK Voice mail prompts 990, 991, and 999.

I am not able to enter any userid, even DN Numbers 10-17

The reinitializing would not have removed the Voice Mail Userid's from the Flash Card would it?

No. Re-init the DK40i will not affect the user id's on the IVP8. Did you cycle the power after program 03 for slot 00 to 98? Is there actually a K5RCU in the system? Do you have a speed dial key programmed on the phone?

Yes, I did Power Cycle the phone system after making the changes requested.

What I am doing to get into Voice Mail is the same as I was doing before I reset the System. I would use the Intercomm Key ##000 from Extension 10, this gives me internal dialtone, and then from there I would type anyone of extensions 18 thru 21 which all give me access to voice mail, once into the voice mail system it plays greetings from 990 and 991 Userid's. I then try to enter the Voice Mail Userid 999 using the syntax as follows *999#

I am not able to connect to the Main Voice Mail Menu to goto Option number 8.

I am able to listen to my previous recordings for Userid 990 and 991 but I cannot enter them in as well. Using the same syntax as 999 above (*990# or *991#) neither allow me to get into the respective mailboxes.

Any ideas?

Yes, I opened the KSU and I definitely have a K5RCU2A PCB Board installed in slot number zero. I did use Program 30 as the system recommends. I had no trouble setting it up, but no Voice Mail Main Menu Access or access to any user voice mail since resetting.

The reason I reset it in the first place was that extension 17 was not accessible. It is accessible now, but now no voice mail.

I tried Program Codes 92 first and then changed it to 98, and power-cycled after each one. Neither seems to have made it work.

Did you place system speed dial button on the phone like Dan mentioned? If not, try # then *999.
