Has anyone else had trouble with main and expansion power supplies dying after a year or so of service? We seem to be on our second wave of power supply failures, all after about a year of service. Vertical wants us to think we are the only ones with this problem. I'm not buying it. I think they're just putting lipstick on a pig! We've had nothing but trouble with the Wave.

Very odd...we've put in or assisted in putting in over 50 Waves and have never had a power supply failure. I've never heard of anyone else having a power supply problem.
I did have a rash of MP5000s smoke power supplies and large screen phones but it turned out to be a batch of bad UPSs.
Are yours on UPS backup?

I have had one out of about 40 waves. Not totally dead just kept resetting the system. Would almost boot and then reset again. Put in replacement power supply from stock all good. Besides that no other issues.

I've replaced (3) Power Supplies on (2) different 2500 over the last 2 years. One of them was back from RMA repair. Aztec repair said they had a problem with ones they were repairing from a testing/inspection standpoint but they had fixed that problem.

My first Wave 4 yrs ago had a main cab and 4 exp mods. over a 2 yr period we lost each PS one at a time about 6 months apart.. Eventually causing the customer to drop us.
My NFR system has had 3 PS, the original blew, then it was replaced and that blew and now we have a "New" version... It was a know issue in the Vertical world that PS had issues.
I have installed at least 10 Waves in the last year and no new PS issues. or Any hardware for that matter.... knock on wood.
The Tech of Southwest Michigan Stevensville, MI 269.277.8103 How do I get the blue smoke back into the system??

Our first Wave install, plus our NFR had failed power supplies (both 2500) after about 2 1 /2 years. It was a common issue on the 1.0 hardware apparently, but was rumored to be addressed by 2.0. All units we have put in since then haven't had any issues.
We still keep one PSU on the shelf just in case..
