I'm looking for a 3-position switch for a door with a magnetic lock. The positions will keep the door locked, keep the door unlocked and unlock the door momentarily. i found the exact switch that I need from Doorking (pictured below) except that it's designed for electronic locks, not magnets. The switch I need has to have it's momentary position cut the power from the magnet, not provide power like door strikes need. I've been looking everywhere with no luck. Any help appreciated. ![[Linked Image from farm6.staticflickr.com]](https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5327/9288125131_fc4d93d0fc.jpg)

Something to keep in mind is that both door strikes and magnetic closures come in two type, fail safe (loss of power = unlocked) or fail secure (loss of power = locked) depending on the application.
Check with Craftmaster hardware 800-221-3212, someone there can probably help you with locating exactly what you need.

Maybe I'm being old fashioned, but when a switch didn't do what we wanted it to do we wired it to a relay (or 3) and made it work.

You would normaly use a "request to exit" momentary button that is SPDT so you can wire it any way that you want. For the hold open you would use a key switch which is again SPDT. Don't know what kind of security this would provide if anybody can just walk over and flip a switch to keep the door unlocked. Both are readily available from security dealers like ADI.

Sam That's what we ended up doing.
