I am an IT admin and got our Toshiba phone system and have since moved to a Cisco system. My church has an Avaya Partner ACS system near as I can tell. I tried to download the software on my 64-bit Windows 7 laptop and didn't have any luck getting it installed. IF the admin gui is similar to Toshiba, would anyone be willing to help me get an admin box up to speed and any tips for logging into their system and fixing a couple issues they have? The system was donated and I'm donating my time so any help is appreciated. My next move was to build up an XP laptop and see if it would install that way. Any help to get me going would be very appreciated and if I can help back on Windows systems/servers, Cisco UC systems etc I'd be happy to do so. Thanks Jeff

acs is a simple system to program through a phone I wouldn't bother with the software , go on site to ext 10 or 11 and 15 20 mn should have it all set

And even if you get the administration software installed on a machine you still have the problem of connecting to the system.
As Skip said, anything that needs to be done can be done in system programming from extension 10 or 11 or from the extension itself for extension programming. Heck of a lot quicker too.

could either of you point me to like an admin guide or anything? I don't know if they know the correct passwords or anything since it was donated. The exact issue they are having is one extension with forwarding and voice mail. Since I've never done it from a phone, just whoever's extension happens to be 10 or 11 will be an admin station?

The admin guides are all on https://support.avaya.com , but you will probably find it easier to ask specific questions in the forum, or contact a forum admin directly. The Partner programming GUI is iffy at best, if you need to connect through the remote access modem. If you have an R7 or R8, there is a serial port which works perfectly, but then you need an USB to serial adapter on your PC. The "password" for programming from the phone is in the admin guides, the password for the GUI has to be set in the system through the programming phone first, and it can me most anything you want it to be.

got a laptop up and running, found the admin guides along with password. I'm hoping between the two I can figure out their issues. Thank you very much all!

heading over there in a little bit...the 2 issues I know they have for sure is one user can't login to his vm box. Is there a way to do a master override? He also wants to forward calls to his cell. I'm sure they both have to do with not being able to login. I will look for default pw's or options to override, but maybe someone can save me some time if you have some insight. thanks! Jeff

Voicemail mailbox passwords can be reset by logging into the voicemail system as the Admin and following the prompts.

The admin of the "voicemail" is seperate from the admin of the "phone system". Download the correct manual (by release level. Partner Mail. It is very easy to reset user passwords from any telephone that can log into voicemail. The manual will tell you the login and password. There are un-announced options at the admin mailbox (mailbox 99). I believe it is option 8 to manage user mailboxes. When you reset a mailbox password, it is set to the default of XXXXX, and the user is prompted to change it at next login.
Please read board rules on the posting of passwords.
