Our Axxess 8.201 system has 6 trunks. 4 of the trunks are for one department and the other 2 are for another. I have it set so those departments only have outgoing access to their specfic trunks.

Is there a way to make it possible for one department to access the others trunks for outgoing calls if all their trunks are busy? Or is there a way to allow everyone access to all trunks but control the selection process ie. the way the outgoing button selects the trunks in a certain order?

Thank You,

When selecting the outgoing button or using the "8" trunks are selected from highest to lowest (Line 4,3,2,1,). That is by design to avoid a call collision as dial in calls roll in from lowest to highest (Line 1,2,3,4). You can give everyone access to all trunks and they can select the outgoing line they want, but if they just select the Outgoing button they will get the highest numbered line allowed to them.

As for accessing each other's trunks (if I'm understanding the question correctly) that's not going to be a very viable option. In fact, one of my complaints on the system is that the Emergency 911 option won't even cross over. In other words, if the 911 option is set to trunk 1, and your phone doesn't have rights to that trunk, you can't use that option. You have to grab an outgoing trunk, then dial 911.

Thank you, I had a feeling that whas how it worked. Seems like they could assign a numbering system or a tree so that you could choose how you wanted the trunks selected.

There was a way to do that in the old Premier system, but that subject has come up here before and DnrComm said it wasn't available. I agree. Seems like poor planning.
