I have a DS2000 I service. We replace the defective Intramail with a third party external unit(DuVoice). Everything works well, but we cannot do a direct voice mailbox transfer. When you press Transfer and then MW, rather than dialing the VM live, the NEC "listens" for the extension number, then transfers the caller. The problem is, the Duvoice isn't listening for an extension number, so the transferred caller is sent to the main greeting.
I either need a way for the NEC to do the action live, rather then listen(operator hears main greet, then dials #xxx and hangs up), or I need away to get the voice mail to "hear" the extension number put in to the NEC. The former would be the best, because the Duvoice would allso need to hear a "#" before the extension number.
I also need to accomplish this without messing up the Call Forwarding and DID routing, which took quite an effort to figure out when we cut over.

I'm pretty sure transferring directly to a users mailbox using the MW key is not going to work with a 3rd party voice mail. However you need to check all setting in the DuVoice system that's were the solution will be not in the DS2000, You might try experimenting with speed dial buttons if nothing else works. Setup as follows, line type ICM, number 700 and pauses if needed, the string DuVoice uses to open the mailbox for transfers.
Why not replace with another Intra Mail? One could not be found?

They did not like the Intramail. It is very easy for them to change the greetings on this, redo trees, and reset mailboxes all from a network interface. They also had capacity problems.
If you transfer to 700 manually rather than pressing MW, it does the same thing. I will try the SD, but I have a feeling it will do the same thing.

Have you used a digit grabber to see what the DS is sending??

What happens when you call in, let AA answer, dial a extension number and let it ring with out answering? Do you get the mailbox greeting or AA greeting?
Same test but answer the incoming call and transfer to the extension and see what happens when the call forward timer kicks in.
If both calls do what there supposed to your integration between the DS2000 and DuVoice is good.
Brokeda gave good advice about the digit grabber.

You might be able to do something creative with speed dial bins.
That was an old trick for integrating analogs.
