Can a PRI card be used with POTS service to control Outbound Caller ID? Just does not sound right. We use 5 analog lines with a Toshiba Strata CIX40.

First off, the CIX40 won't support a PRI card.

Secondly, most carries dictate what you send for outbound caller ID. Some will allow you to set Station Level Caller ID, as long as the number you are outpulsing belongs to you.

I believe you can out pulse different CID info based on DNs and PDNs in all CIX systems.

Besides the fact that a PRI card won't fit in a CIX 40, using a PRI card for POTS lines will work about as well as playing a vinyl record in a CD player.

Unless I have been greatly misinformed for the many years, you can not out pulse Caller ID info on analog trunks. The only thing going out is the DTMF of the dialed number.

The only way you could control caller ID on a CIX-40 would be with SIP trunks. As a bonus you could get direct incoming numbers as well.

Some carriers (C-Beyond comes to mind) can show your BTN for all of your analog lines. AT&T is not one of them.

In a Co Line situation, the carrier maybe able to out pulse different CID info based on the line selected.

So line 1 could be XXX
Line 2 could be YYYY
Line 3 could be ZZZZ

We have had both CBeyond on Windstream do this for our clients.

No idea about AT&T.

Certain small carriers who have Co Lo in a CO will accommodate your outgoing caller ID needs on analog trunks, unlike the major carriers who ID them individually.

Thanks for the info. It took AT&T 3 weeks of back and forth before they were able to tell me that they do no accommodate outgoing caller ID on analog lines. I even had a "Customer Advocate" help me. I highly reccommend using a customer advocate because apparently they call around AT&T for you and wait on hold just like you would have had to do!

What are you trying to accomplish? Do you want all lines to show the same Caller ID or do you want to program different numbers?

I wanted Outgoing Caller ID on all lines to display the same number. I did not want each line to display its number. Originally, (outside of this forum) I was told to use a PRI card but these lines are POTS/analog lines and I have a CIX 40.
