NEC DSX installed Nov. 2012. There is an occasional beeping while on a call. No specific timing to it, & the far end party hears a beep, but the customer only gets a dead spot in the conversation. I installed a temp.2 line phone which proved it inside. They have 8 12 button phones, & 1 -7300095 DECT cordless phone.I have the cordless disconnected temp. but it still happens. Just wondering could it be a defective KSU or something in programming? any ideas??

I suspect the lines are programmed for Caller ID with Call Waiting (program 3121). If so change the setting to Caller ID or None if it is not being used.
What's happening is the voice on the far end is occasionally being incorrectly interpreted as a call waiting alerting tone. The system is muting the line during the interval when the Caller ID FSK would normally be transmitted.
