Those 66E3-25 blocks are great. I have a few in the 'warehouse' myself!

Thanks all-

Yes, Hall, thanks for the warning. I had that experience some time ago when practicing with some 25pr. Being a rookie, I unwrapped all the binders at once and then let the pairs mix. I then tried to separate the pairs and terminate (after alot of swearing). Of course, the end result was split pairs everywhere!

jknichols, Thank you. There is indeed enough slack to mount the block below the existing station.

Thanks all for your suggestions. Each of you gave me your attention and time--I truly appreciate it. You guys are pros!

I'm sure I'll see you on the forums again soon smile

Brad

Also make sure you are working "up to code" on your cabling, plenum, non-plenum, firestopping where required et cetera.

Are you required to pull a permit?

As a much more noob than the OP evidently is, I'd wonder if he took a picture of his completed work and to ask a follow on question that I didn't see come up.

How hard would it have been to put an AMP-50 connector on the end of the existing cable and use a purchased 25 pair AMP-50 extension to move the end where ever it was needed? I've seen AMP-50 extensions used in this fashion, I just don't know if they were field terminated or if that is even possible.

Thanks.
Rowan

If you have the proper tool and the appropriate male or female heads, it's easy. The proper tool is not cheap (and I don't know if it's even made anymore) but putting on a head takes no more then 10 or 15 minutes.
