New SBX installed 9 X 32 no voice mail. Customer has complained about being dropped on a conference call. Did a little research & found something about CO to CO extender. It seems when you use 2 CO lines the system will drop call when the unsupervised conference call timer expires. The conf initator is still on the call. She is not dropping out. It seems you can enter a number in a certain program (don't have the book in front of me) to increase the timer. Ex: enter a 3 & it will extend the timer to 30 minutes.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem & also do you think I'm heading in the right direction.

Don't know too much about the SBX, but if it's like most of the systems I've encountered---I think you're on the right track.

You have to understand what's happening here, too. If that conf initiator DOES drop out, those people can stay on the line----forever. However, I'm also wondering (like you)---why the timer would kick in when all parties are still talking??

Someone who knows the SBX will jump in here and shed some light on this.

This trunk to trunk timer controls disa as well. It is an option for the STS and other Vertical/Vodavi systems. It is a failsafe to drop a trunk in the event disconnect supervision doesn't work which can happen with any trunk including voip trunks. You can disable it by setting it to zero.

Just a thought here, why not try and use the conference room feature. We use it all the time on the IP system that we sell and I am pretty sure SBX has it as well. Just a thought for an easy workaround.

The timer still comes into play anytime you have two or more trunks connected....you have to adjust that.
