You did not mention what feature codes you tried and what do you mean dial it direct?

-Does the Flash have a power light thats on?

-Is the Software in tight?

-Do F9*1 and see what codes are there

-Do F983 and does it say Password or Log or Inactive?

-Does F903 ask about feature codes?

-Is the mod cord connected to both the Flash and the KSU?

-Does maintenance in KSU programming show status of the port the Flash is on?

In addition to Curly's suggestions, I would also try connecting a digital phone to the ports the voicemail is connected to just to verify there isn't a problem there.

And of course, try re-booting both the KSU and the Flash to see if they'll link back up - assuming the Flash is still working...

The system went default

process to fire up:
-F903 and say ok to the codes (which you did)
-Feature 983 and enter the config password
-Setup parameters
-program away

Can the flash do Q&A miailboxes. the ESI we are leaving behind has the ability but where we are moving we have the norstar flash. i am under the impression that it is a pretty basic vice mail.

IVR - Interactive Voice Response

No it does not, only the Norstar Applications Module (NAM) had this feature when installed.
