I have 4 lines that will not brake dial tone. Tested them be fore the system and they work normal. So I changed out the 206 module that said lines are on, and the same trouble. The tones sound distorted, is DTMF part of the Processor?

A 206 module supports 2 lines and 6 extensions. So the 4 lines are split between multiple cards.

Are all of the telephone lines having the same problem...or just 4 of them?

have you looked at program 201 to be sure the lines in question are configured as touchtone ?

Im not sure where the DTMF receivers are in a Partner Plus but I would suspect they are in the 206 and not the processor.


Are we speaking of lines as in outside phone lines or Ports as in station ports if all four are on the same 206 they would have to be station ports . in which case sounds like a bad 206 module .

yes I checked the programs, and I tried an other processer and had the same trouble.
When I hook on to the line before the system the DTMF seemed distorted, unlike the tones on 206 one and two.
Could it be something in the carrier back plain?

I doubt its the carrier , time to try a known good 206 module .

have you tried your buttset or a SLT plugged directly into the 206 ?

Just wondering....is the phone service true POTS lines...or...delivered in some other manner and then converted to POTS lines on the premises?

No, IT'S NOT THE CARRIER. You haven't said how many lines are on this system and if they all have the same problem. AND as has been asked, who provides these lines?

at default the Partner Plus is dialing rotary some newer trunks will not break dial tone,

At default, all Partner systems are set for Tone dialing. (It was the Spirit that defaulted to Pulse)
