i have a DX120 that we have had for about 7 years and i was just put in charge of it. ive found the PCDBA software for the DX120 but i cant connect to it.
PCDBA ver.- W16UM1.F17B DX120 ver.- K16UM2.F22
does the PCDBA have to be on the same "F" version as the DX?
also i think the guy before me has changed the programming password for the unit. is there a way to reset that with out losing all of my settings? or is there a way to find it?
one more thing. when i try to connect to the unit via the com port or usb to com the unit just gives me a bunch of beeps high and low tones and the PC says "Pre Connection Request"
im not sure what is going on. i dont know if im missing something or if im putting in the correct passcode or the wrong one. it very vague on what its wanting.

The version of PCDBA needs to at least be the version of the system, if not higher. Ideally, you should match them up.

What are you trying to do?? If you have a small system and just want to change several things---it's much easier to use the phone---especially when you haven't had experience with PCDBA connection yet.
Do you have a manual?? Also, is this a DX120 or a DX80?? I thought that the Windows versions accessed all of the 120s and the 80s---maybe I'm wrong. That PCDBA version doesn't look right. If this system has been up & running for 7 years---the PCDBA that you have with the system should be compatible--but something seems to be a bit off.
Where are you located?? What kind of USB/serial adapter do you have?
As stated---it may be much easier to just use the phone programming.

Which pass codes are you trying to change via PCDBA?
