New to forum and work for school system. Have several systems FXII with Vertical Interhange 12.1. I need to know how to program one of our lines to go to a different routing box than the main school bldg which uses a delayed ring to vm extensions and goes to box 800. All lines in the System menu of interchange go to 800 by default,it seems, when programmed for delayed ring and our FXII is programmed to be in day mode at all times. I have programmed other lines to go to a principals vmail box by programming the lines voice mail ID in phone system with their ext. When I made a routing box 802, and programmed the FXII line's voice mail ID number and interchange to send the line to the box, it would go to box 800. So I created a new routing box(1800 thinking the FXii needed to see a 4-digit number) and would receive a message like, " I'm sorry that was not a valid option.....(or something)" but it would then go to box I had made. Browsed other posts and read something about changing a file trans.xxx to accept the box.? Hope this is enough detail......thanks.....my first post!!!!!!!!!

Definitely on to something with editing the Trans.txt file but still not sure how to write the translation to stop the message " I'm sorry that was not a valid selection" I may need step by step instructions on programming the FXiis voice mail ID number and on modifying the Trans .txt file in Interchange....

hi rbf, I might also need a step by step trans.txt programming...so I replaced the Interchange with a COB yesterday and can't seem to have the routing corrected. It's good that they have a receptionist to answer calls. In the interchange...there's a field in the routing box 800 wherein you can route according to day/night service like to other routing boxes which is not available in the COB.
Kindly advise. Thanks. sonny

Sonny,
What you are asking for is technician level programming. Why don't you contact a local Comdial technician have have him help you with this? I do not think anyone here is going to give you step by step instructions on how to program a interchange. It has taken us years to learn what we have and many classes etc etc For what your asking for please contact a local Comdial tech and pay him to do what you need. Good luck with it.

Hi Jim,
I definitely understand, just thought it's possible to get additional information here with respect to trans.txt. I'm actually coordinating with KTI tech as well...and just checking for more inputs or parallel information here in case.
I will just continue my coordination with them. Thanks again. sonny
