Hello everyone,
As some of you may have seen, I have just acquired an IPS DM. I am doing some of the programming at home before it goes to the office. At the office it will have 8 outside lines. At home I have one that I am working with, but here is the issue:
I have one analog pstn line that I am trying to use on the IPS, through the 8COTS card. I have a temporary amphenol breakout box, in which I am plugging the pstn line in from the wall jack. I have configured the system like this: LT00=8DLCP card, LT01= 8COTS, LT02=8LCAA.
I have programmed each LEN such as 000 as extension 200, LEN008 as D000 for Central office line. As soon as I plug in the pstn line comming from the wall to the correspond jack on the 25 pair cable that leads to LEN008 or line 1 on the COTS, the corresponding line LED on the 8COTS goes red, as if someone is using the line. When I dial 9 or press the line key as I set for line 1 on the Dterm, it shows busy. The line is not having any issues because I tested it with a simple analog phone.
This is what I don't get. If I would take an analog phone in the house and plug it in to a pstn jack outside the system and take it off hook, the Line LED on the 8COTS goes off as the line is in the idle stage, and then I can use the Dterm press the line key or dial 9 to use the outside line. I don't understand this at all. I have programmed prior phone systems here before, testing the outside line this same way such as our old IPK when it first came. I have never got a busy signal.
Any advice or clue to what the issue is?
Thank you.

All trunks must be in a trunk group.

bingo.
Also, 000 should be F200, but that's not the problem here.

Hello,
Could someone tell me which exact command this is. I have not been able to find the right one, or if I did I am not doing something right.
Thanks.
P.S. I actually did have extension 200 programmed as F200, but I just forgot to write that down here!

Well, I believe I have done everything that I can in CM30XX and CM35XX. It is so weird. When the Line is really in idle and no calls or ringing on the line is happening, the 8COTS believes the line is busy. The Line LED is light solidly red. However, if I take the line off hook and make line 1 actually busy, the telephone system and the 8COTS thinks the line is in idle. When I take the line off hook, I can very easily dial 9, and pickup of the outside line.
Right now during programming, I have set lines D000 to trunk route 00 with an access code of 9 and Lines D001-D007 to trunk route of 01 with an access code of 7.
Since I only have 1 line now during programming, Line D001 I set it to trunk route 00, with a "Kind of Trunk Route" of "DDD (C.O., DID, ISDN, SIP) trunk"
Right now I honestly don't know what to do, since I thought I had everything programmed. This system is opposite of what it should be. Line Idle=PBX busy, Line actually busy=PBX thinks idle
Thanks.

3009>000> is what? 3500>00> should be 15 3502>00> should be 3 3520>00> should be 15 3521>00> should be 15 35102>00> should be 1 unless you're in Australia...
In general most stuff in 30yy and 35yy should be default.

Thanks. I was able to get out on the outside line one time. The only command that I added was CM3000 needing a trunk route of 00 instead of None. Let me know if this was correct or not. So I said I could get out by dialing 9, and I was able to hear the outside dial tone and make a call. Once I replaced the handset though, I did the same thing and I got the busy signal. The outside line did in fact hang up, but the phone system seems like it is holding on to it and not releasing the line. Any input? Thanks for those commands. I really appreciate it.

in 3009 delete the trunk group # from any dead trunks. You should only have one trunk with anything assigned in 3009.

Okay, I deleted the unused trunk. Here is the thing. I can get the outside line, then hang up. I then will have to wait about ten minutes for it to allow to use the outside line again. Is there something in the command manual about disconnect time?
