I'm not getting the settings for an ip phone. I am trying to set up on an MBX. I go first to pgm 106 and input the mac address. From there I start dumbing down. I don't see the book telling me to do anything more for an 8000 ip phone. I know it requires more. On the old xts I kind of did ok but not on this MBX. Maybe someone can pm me or atleast send me in the right direction. Thanks for any help. tk

Lets take it step by step using the web browser administration.
1. PGM 103 System Config..Logical Slot Assignment voib lines are co lines by definition. If you add a voib card it will require a reset to take effect.
2. System Config...Logical Assignment of IP phone. Slot number 99 choose number of devices. A block of numbers will be reserved after system reset.
3. System Config...Ip address plan. I suggest a static ip not port forwarding. If using the built in voip ports on the mpb and voib channels..ip addressing for both modules must use the same subnet.
4. System Config...Ip Phone registration Station number will be assigned after you save the Mac Address of the phone. Do not set an id or password, that is for a softphone only.
5. System Config...Co line Attributes Svc type did incoming group number outgoing group number co svc mode H323
6. System Config..co/ip group access assigned to station range.
7. System Config...voiu/voib ip address Set address info for access to network. Board attributes are rarely changed.
8. Remote ip phone configuration. Password to enter Set for profile 1 Mode is remote Dhcp on (usually) set the MFIM #1 address Speaker button resets phone. Volume up and down navigates fields. Press hold/save to store changes.

Thank you very much. I will try it tonight. I don't know how the star voting works. In my mind someone needs to add six more to your profile. Thanks, tk
