I had a call from a local business looking for a replacement phone. The system says AT&T Sprint model CS308E They have phones now that do not have any model on them. Some of the existing phones say Avaya some say AT&T. Anyone have or know where I can get a working phone for this system?

I'm not familiar with an AT&T Sprint. Is it an AT&T Spirit? I checked Google and found some listings. The Spirit is a very old system. Time for an upgrade?

I think your right about the Spirit I Goggled it and found it's a Spirit 308. I was told a MLX phone will work but I don't think that is right the MLX is digital and I think the Spirit is analog, guess I should have looked closer.

That's a very old system Merritt, when they lost power they would default to dial pulse. The phones were pretty basic and I doubt very much an MLX would work.

I put in a ton of them Merritt, and never saw a MLX working on one, I wouldn't think it would. there are still 6 button sets and 24 button sets out there. If you need the program flow chart I have one around here someplace just yell if you need it.

No dice with using MLX phones on a Spirit system.

Merritt, those are just rebranded Partner phones. Sprint used to sell so many Partner systems that they got AT&T to put their name on them. I suspect that the system is a Partner+ or Partner II but CS308E could mean an ACS. But at any rate you can use MLS's or any of the newer Partner phones.

Probably a good idea to have the customer send a picture of one of the desk phones to see if it is a rebranded Partner system...or...an AT&T Spirit.
Sprint used to sell rebadged AT&T consumer telephone equipment during the 90's when the stuff was manufactured by Phillips. I was unaware that the practice extended to the commercial platform.
The Sprint name did appear on other telephone systems that were not associated with AT&T/Bell Labs.

I actually got Sprint branded Partner 18D's from a refurber once. But yeah, a picture would be nice but Merritt you could just Google "Avaya Partner phones" to see what they look like.
