MBX-IP 100 with B1Bq software on the VOIU and AOJe on the VMIB. Occasionally when a call gets transferred to a person's mailbox, the message from the caller somehow records over the person's name or greeting. And sometimes when a person records his greeting on his phone, say ext 104, it appears there, but also might appear on say 112.Tech support advised re-installing the voice mail software that I just recently installed. I did that about two weeks ago. Now the problem is back. I didn't have the problem before the new software. Tech support says re-installing the software is like initializing the voice mail. Anyone got any ideas.

These kind of problems seem to pop up every now and then with a flash based voice mail system. If a voice mail reset doesn't work is it possible to downgrade the software to the last revision that worked?

Well the Vertical tech talked me in to loading the latest MBX 100 software, B1Br. She doesn't think it's a vm problem. I'm crossing my fingers she's right. The customer's not real happy with confidential voice mail messages ending up as names or greetings on other extensions voice mail. Since the problem takes a while to raise it's ugly head I will wait and check the whole voice mail system for errors late next week and post the results. tk

Just got three emails threating to sue me over the voice mail issue on this MBX. I last updated the MBX to ver. B1.Br. I was hoping that did the trick. That was January 2. After two weeks the problem has surfaced again. These folks were really nice at first and I don't blame them now. I am going to throw in a dispatch in there for now and hope they still like me. Maybe Vertical can fix this but for now I'm not a real big fan.

I don't know much about the MBX, but on it's big brother (IPECS LIK) there is a command to re-index the voice-mail. This is something I had to do once or twice because of the same problem you're describing. Since the software is similar, I would think that there would be an equivalent procedure.
With the IPECS, you telnet into the system and once you enter the database password, and the maintenance password, you type "del mbox unlink".

That's sounds exciting. How long ago did you have the problem and the fix? I hate to try this and in two weeks I get the problem back.

Probably 1-2 years ago. One of the software versions caused the problem, but it wouldn't go away until I did a re-index.
Again, this is on the IPECS, not the MG/MBX.

Well Vertical has the database now. They didn't seem to know much about the re-index. They are going to load my db and see if they can see anything. If I can get out to the sight without being punched, maybe I can hypher term into maintenance and enter the code and see what comes up. Just kidding. I'm not that brave, and I'm not sure the digital VM will work either. I might have to revert to and old analog disptach if they can't fix this. Thanks for the info. tk

An anlalog Dispatch will work but the digital Dispatch will not integrate with the MBX. It will answer but it will not know which mailbox you are trying to access.
