All depends on the changes. The proprietary software is needed if you really want to service an Axxent.

We have a customer we are installing data cabling and an Axxent from their home office over 8 hours away. Installing is where we drew the line and he is going to have to call someone over an hour away to program it. The system was at their home office before and is already set up it just may need some tweaking as in ring changes and voice mail password resets. I am prepared to call in the Intertel dealer however if I can program by phone I can get a manual and save him some money and trouble. Not going to waste my time if not, I have learned when to call it quits. My intention is not to service the system but just get him going. Thanks for the help.

Password changes can be made through the phone via the Admin mailbox. Tweaking ringing changes are most likely going to need the software. Most if not all techs that work on these use the software.
