does the 7200/7400 have a function like a cli interface where you can ping from,do a trace route or check active ports,it would be really nice to ping other devices from the pabx for fault finding.

No it doesn't. The ports for the system are automatically open for what they need. Best thing is to get on the same network as the system and ping out from a laptop. What is it that you are trying to do?
