Our customer in the UK has a Samsung OfficServ 7100 with 6 SIP trunks using IP address authentication. Several times a week they experience no transmission on both incoming and outgoing calls; re-booting the router (Netgear DGN1000)overcomes the problem. We have tried swapping the router but the problem remains. The original router worked fine for 2 years.

I know that for SPNet you need to have internet ping enabled on the router, it may also be the same for SIP, also do you need to have SIP ALG turned off, which may now be enabled by default on the new router.

Turn off the DoS/Port Scan in the wan setup of the router. I also disable UPNP and the wireless (if not using it). I leave the wan ping off. Make sure you forwared all the ports (don't use DMZ) As stated above turn off SIP ALG.
I use the DGN2200 with no issues.
It does sound like a router issue.
Check the firmware revision on the router

SIP ALG was turned on. Turned it off and it's been fine for the last 3 days.
Thank you both for your help
