Just installed a door box on an Sl1100. The audio was awful. We swapped it out thinking it was defective. the replacement door box sounded just as bad. Has anyone else had an issue with the door box audio?

Door Boxes suck big time. Unless it's very quite.
SW 4.0 lets you use Std slt devices for door box. That gives you a wide range of choices. If needed a slt booster al la Sandman can be used.

I was investigating the 3rd party door phone, but my application is for a school entrance that needs the door phone ring destination to be determined by day/night/etc ring mode. The 3rd party door phone is simply a hotline device.

That's no problem either way, Door or CO Line.
