I have been working through a file sharing problem between a windows 7 and XP machine. I have been looking over thread after thread on the particular settings and making sure they are all set correctly. I still cannot access my windows 7 machine shared folders from a windows XP computer.
I started trying to simply ping computers to see where that would get me. I found that I could ping the XP machine from the 7, but not the other way around.
At the time I wasn't thinking about the phone connections to my computers, but I am now.
I tried pinging the PHONE that is just before the windows 7 machine... AND IT WORKS!
Is there something about the Allworx setup that would keep me from pinging the computer behind it?
Everything I was reading before seemed to say that if you could only ping one way, it was typically a firewall thing or a security software issue.
Anyone help with this?
Thanks Chad
