I've had problems with an SX200 ICP and been told to replace the HD. I can't connect via a maintenance session and don't know how best to do a graceful shutdown. Any suggestions?

Why are you not able to connect through maintenance? You need to address that issue FIRST before trying to replace a Hard Drive.

Good question. I was finally able to connect directly via the serial maint port. But after logging in as maint1 I can't find a shutdown option. The SW ver is 5.0.1.

So, if you try and log-in as installer, you can't log-in? There is no "Shutdown" command. There is a restart and many Mitel techs click on that and when the system starts the reboot shutdown, they just power off the system. There is no reason why you can't just power down the system. If you have peripheral bays, you need to shut them all down after you shut down the main controller. When powering back up, turn the main controller on first and then power up the peripheral bays.

Why didn't you logged in under the username: installer?

I logged in to Maintenance as Maint1 but there is no SYSTEM > RESTART option. Is that something with ver. 5.0.1?

Installer login is the only one with that option. If you do not have the installer password you will have to pull the power plug. If you are going to replace the hard drive do you have a good backup?
