Can anyone tell me what the Avaya sends to the Contact Closure Adjunct. I wanted to see if I can reuse it on a Voip instillation.
Thanks!

Hi Sam-

Which Avaya system are you coming off of?

The Avaya system is gone :-(
We replaced it with a hosted PBX.

Trying to salvage what is left :-)

The question is what signals did the Avaya send to the RJ11 port of the PARTNER Contact Closure Adjunct.

Unfortunately it was not a dry contact from the ACS itself, it was a TTL level signal that triggered the adjunct.

You would probably need to use something like a Viking Electronics RC-2A and an ATA adapter. Call the ATA's extension number, the RC-2A answers, dial a Touch-Tone code to trigger the relay to open the door. If you have a door phone interfaced with an ATA on the system, you can use the RC-2A wired in series to "listen" for the touch-tones to trip the relay.
