The latest server version is 1.001p, the latest client is 2.227.
There are no feature enhancements in the latest releases, they are maintenance releases only to improve stability, etc...
Inter-Tel just released it's no-client UM solution that uses IMAP-4 for voicemail and HTML for sending faxes, but I haven't seen it yet so I can't give you an informed opinion.

2.235B is the latest client version. I have experience with the IMAP (UM/OSE) and it works quite well. The outbound fax portion is via a web form (IIS must be installed on EM) and works well also. This new architechture eliminates issues with Outlook which is a good thing in it's own right.

Can the IMAP based unified messaging work with the older AxxesoryTalk VPU? Or is it only for the EM? (running WinNT)
We have so few people running outlook, and so many problems with it, I haven't used much of our LevelIII UM license. :-/

There is a seperate version for EM, there is also a version for Win2k/NT VPUs. I believe IMAP is available in both versions.

To run the new IMAP UM, you must have an EM server running ver 1.1 or higher, which was just released. This setup works OK, but there are some limitations. The voicemails are .wav file attachments, which means storage issues for larger installations. They are delivered to a newly-created IMAP inbox and if the are moved via a rule or the user to another folder, the message light on the fone goes out. So the user must check two folders for email. If you want to forward a voicemail to another user, it is only an email, not a voicemail message. You can't 'prepend' the forwarded message with an explanation like you would normally do w/ a voicemail and you CAN do w/ the traditional client.
The fax-out utility is html-based, which is OK, but only supports .tiff and .pdf files at this time, which is super-bad. The good news is users can receive incoming faxes as .pdf instead of .tiff but it requires an additional license. Not being able to print-to-fax is a big strike. There are just too many competing products that can perform that trick.
The IMAP solution is really geared towards non-Outlook environments and/or domain-restricted environments that prevent apps to be installed by end-users.

Very true on the shortcomings in regards to the fax format. The PDF/TIFF format thing is a bummer as it adds a step in sending a fax. I actually like the web fax form though, makes it convenient to be able to fax from any web browser from anywhere without any type of software installation(assuming that your EM is visible externally). I use it all the time to test inbound faxes at customer sites.
