Hello everyone my first post, I have a old Stratagy lite DK 424 (at least that is what I think I have the box doesn't have any writing on it but looking on at pictures on ebay it looks like I have that) and the hard drive stopped working (clicks of death). I put in a old 6GB drive I had and the bios detected the hard drive but obviously it doesn't have the software to run the system, I just wanted to see if the HD would be detected by the system and hoped the hard drive controller wasn't bad. Like I said the system detects it but I need some help here installing the software on it. I don't really know where to start should I look for copies of the software on ebay, a toshiba dealer, online download? Do I just put in the software disk, format the hard drive then install the software? Do I need DK admin on another computer to install the software like connecting through hyper terminal on a windows box or something like that? I programmed some routers in high school in my old cisco class so I'm not afraid of having to read or type in commands but I just need to know the steps for getting this box up and running again. Any advice from a pro here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

Your best bet would be to contact the local Toshiba dealer or Toshiba directly, an alternative would be to look at the gray market online but remember the system your looking for is an out of life legacy product and you just might purchase an equally big of a problem system. I'd look for a newer voicemail system from the local dealers, time for a complete upgrade maybe.

Hi Read your post and you are way over the line into needing a Toshiba Tech to resolve your issues. your probably out of luck on that old unit ,but could use a stradgy flash that will plug right in.
I will pm you a number of someone in Arizona to call.
Even if you get a unit I would call a local dealer to square you away.

I would use a VME 4000. Simple, cheap, flash based. Requires 2 or 4 analog ports. I sold a bunch of these.

Golly, I have a VME4000 I would love to sell, took in a Toshiba and never saw one of those voicemails before.
Please do yourself a favor and dump the lite, even an Amanda SoHo is better, more reliable, I have a local guy do a flash upgrade, no hard drives.
