I am a total noob when it comes to our Interl-Tel Axxes phone system. We are on software version 8.2 by the way. I have a good handle on how to program the thing in DB studio, but what I can't figure out is our total number of voicemail boxes. Currently, when I go to create an associated mailbox, and choose the option to associate it with an extension, only three or four extensions show up. We have about 15 extensions in the system that do not have mailboxes associated with them. It appears that we have more extensions then we have mailboxes for. So my question is, what controls the total number of mailboxes in our system? Do we need another option card, or upgrade to the voicemail server itself?
Thanks

The stations that are not showing up in your list have an "Extension ID" assigned rather than a mailbox. Go to "Extension ID" and you should see all your missing stations in that list. Just simply delete the ID and then go down to "Mailboxes" and you now will see your missing stations.

Thanks for your response, that did the trick. This does beg the question... What is an extension ID and why Don't I need it? I have a lot of extension ID's in there right now. How do they get created?
Thanks

If you have a station that does not have a Mailbox or a Station ID, that station will not be able to recieve a transfered call from the Auto Attendant. Basically, as far as the VM/AA is concerned, that station doesnt exist. Take for example the Lunch Room phone. You normally wouldnt want this station to have a mailbox but you still require it to recieve a call from the outside through the AA. You would assign it an ID not a mailbox. Another example would be the lobby phone or maybe a courtesy phone where you would not want any calls being able to dial this from the outside, you would take away the Mailbox and the ID.
