We have a new customer with a XTSc with Pathfinder VM. The customer relocated (probably from ebay) the system his self. We installed and configured the system. Everything appeared fine until we went to test the voicemail. When I press the vmail button or go offhook and dial 440 the system just rings and rings. Card slot and ports are programmed correctly. I connected directly to the card with a monitor, keyboard, and mouse and did a backup(force of habit). Defaulted the vmail and reprogrammed. Still not answering.

I'm an ESI, Nortel, and Avaya installer. The last Vodavi I installed was 8 or 10 years ago. What am I missing?

I suspect you don't have the correct extensions programmed into group 440. You should be able to call each voice mail port individually by dialing the extension number associated to it. Then make sure those 12 extensions are in group 440 and 450.

Is it a digital or analog Pathfinder? If it's digital you can plug a 30 button phone into each port to make sure the ports on the phone system are working. Make sure "station lock" is turned off in flash 06 first. If it's analog, call each port and see if you can answer with a butt set. This will atleast tell you if it is a phone system problem or a vm problem. If it's the Inskin Pathfinder, then it's probably a number plan mis-match like Derrick stated.

It's the inskin with hdd. I'll be back onsite next Tuesday I'll check the port configurations again.

I just thought about this the voicemail stations can't be the same as the STS (150-157) right? Extensions 156 and 157 are for SLT on the CKIB? It has to be the wrong extensions in 440 and 450.

Thanks guys. I'll let you know how stupid I am after my return visit. LOL

The XTS in-skin Pathfinder is 12 ports. When the card slot is programmed and the VMIB installed and the system is reset, the card will be given the next range of station numbers. I think F65 will automatically be updated with the numbers but but its no big deal. Be sure to put those into hunt group 450 as well.
