We have just added a few new Spectralink wireless handsets to our phone system. The users who have these wireless phones also have desk phones. Is there a way to share the desk phone mailbox so the users do not have to look for messages in 2 places?
Currently, I am using forward all calls from the desk phone to there handset extension when they leave their desks. I don't want callers to have to listen to 8 or 12 rings before the desk phone voicemail picks up.
Thanks,
Jeff

Create a forwarding path for one of the two phones to a call routing application to the other phone's mailbox. Only one phone will receive the message notification.

What we do is create keyset lists that includes the spectralink and that person's extension, which are then put into a hunt group (the hunt group extension becomes that person's extension). The hunt group recalls to CRA that sends a caller to that person's mailbox on timeout.

We use a slight twist on Jordans method. We create a hunt group with both phones using extension list with both phones as the member. Set up a forwarding path with the huntgroup as first point (and second point if they need more ring time) then to voicemail. Set conditions to "immediate" forward. Call rings both phones, goes to desk phone mailbox. The upside is everyone is able to call the desk extension and get the person no matter what phone they are at. Same concept works across nodes, but you need to use the CRA with TO to MB to get the voicemail set then. We have about 50 of these set up in a manufacturing plant. Some in the same node, and some spanning nodes. Good luck.
